About Georgine
A Lifelong Advocate for Students
Retired Teacher, Educator and Community Leader.
Georgine Tomasi has spent her entire 45 year career in education fighting for students, parents and teachers in five states. She knows, firsthand, what students need to thrive, and she's ready to bring that knowledge to the Escondido Union High School Board.
Georgine saw the difference a dedicated teacher and a supportive community could make — and she's dedicated her life to making sure every student gets that same opportunity.
She has been deeply involved in school life — attending and addressing issues at school board meetings, serving on the Escondido Union School Board from 2018-2022 where she advocated for full-time T-K for all students, and parental input on district spendings.
She brings over four decades of experience as a high school teacher, helping classroom teachers, serving on numerous school advisory and community committees. She understands both the challenges families face and the levers of change available to an engaged school board member.
Why She's Running
Students Can't Wait Another 4 Years for Change
Our kids are navigating a mental health crisis, widening achievement gaps, and a school system that too often feels disconnected from the families it serves. Georgine is running because she believes the school board should be a force for real, measurable change — not just a rubber stamp. She's ready to ask hard questions, push for accountability, and make sure every decision starts with one question: is this best for students?
Student Well-Being First
Every policy decision should begin and end with the question: how does this help our students thrive?
Accountability & Transparency
Families deserve honest answers about how their tax dollars are spent and how decisions get made.
Community Partnership
The best schools are built by educators, parents, students, and community members working together.
